Exeter stun Tigers at Welford Road

Six tries were scored in this intense Premiership opener at Welford Road. Exeter copied their opening game last season when they beat Gloucester at Sandy Park but beating Leicester in front of their home crowd is certainly a big step forward.

Naqelevuki opened Exeter's scoring in the opening minutes and Ignacio Mieres converted, as he did for all of Exeter's tries. Johnson scored on the 24th minute and Matt Jess added their final try.

Waldrom scored on the third minute and Twelvetrees converted which meant the shine was taken off Naqelevuki's opener. Young Twelvetrees couldn't manage the conversion of Niall Morris' try but could convert his second one which was near the hour mark.

Mieres added 3 pens and Twelvetrees added 2. Ford made a cheeky 3 points from a drop goal on the 8th minute but his final 2 attempts couldn't win Leicester the match.
