England prop, Andrew Sheridan has been ruled out of the Rugby World Cup following a shoulder injury he sustained during England's RWC opener against Argentina last weekend.

Sheridan had two operations on left his shoulder and was returning after recovery from right shoulder surgery meaning the Sale Sharks representative will have to head back home to receive more surgery on his injury.

This will come as a big blow for the 31 year-old and unfortunately it could be his last world cup and it will certainly be a disappointment for the prop.

"Its sad for Sheri (Sheridan). We brought 5 props so we have options."

The England coaching team will choose a replacement prop as soon as possible but unfortunately for Sheridan he will not be able to join his team mates in New Zealand and must return home for treatment. Scrum Five will update you on as many squad changes or player news as possible.
