Gloucester looked to withstand a strong Saracens pack that held a fantastic away record. However, from the start it was clear the match would be full of feisty encounters as the sides came to blows within the first minute.

But the real rugby was not far away as two strong attempts from Gloucester came but couldn't be finished off in the end.

The points finally came at the end of the first quarter as Burns slotted a penalty through the posts to give Gloucester a 3 point lead. But he missed a second opportunity a few minutes later.

The first try came for Gloucester when Olly Morgan linked up with May allowing the full back to dive over the line, extending Gloucester’s lead to 8 points.

Penalties from both sides came just before the break to round off the first half with the score at 11-3.

Hodgson missed an easy penalty in the first minute of the 2nd half but Owen Farrell took over kicking duties and scored on the 47th minute.

Both sides were hit with yellow cards as Rhys Gills and Nick Wood were sent to the bin for an off the ball incident during a promising attack from Gloucester.

Another Farrell penalty narrowed the gap to just 2 points with score at 11-9.

Saracens celebrate Brad Barritt's late score
It looked like Gloucester had secured the victory as Taylor added two penalties before the end of the match meaning Gloucester’s lead by 8 points.

However, Saracens had different plans as Owen Farrell added a penalty, leaving the visiting side just 5 points away from Gloucester’s score.

With 2 minutes left on the clock, Brad Barritt went over the try line from a sneaky Owen Farrell grubber kick. Rory Lawson looked to hold him up but the TMO decided it was a try.

Farrell successfully converted and the game ended with Saracens taking a last gasp victory by 19 points to 17.
