Prior to the match people were predicting an easy Irish victory but those predictions changed instantly. A Shane Williams try came after a big team effort. The play started with a Rhys Priestland kick which initially put Ireland under pressure. Click read more to view the full report.

The Wales centres made more ground taking the pack into the 22 and with Warburton and Faletau coming in to offer additional support in the attack the try looked inevitable. Priestland converted it and gave Wales an early 7-0 lead.

On the 23rd minute, Ronan O'Gara reduced Wales lead but only slightly as he scored a penalty. Later on in the half a long range penalty from Leigh Halfpenny meant Wales held a solid lead heading into the half time break.

Just 10 minutes into the second half scrum-half Mike Phillips saw space on the wing and darted across the line. The TMO confirmed the try and Wales looked certain winners but  Priestland couldn't convert.

Even though Ireland brought on 5 pairs of fresh legs, it wasn't enough, Another Wales try came shortly after and Priestland did covert meaning Wales held a 12 point lead.

The game ended with a lineout from which Wales cleared the ball into touch confirming a glorious victory, sending them into the semi-finals.
