You might be wondering, who is Stuart Lancaster? Well, he hasn't coached the world's best teams or clubs but Stuart Lancaster has had a successful playing career and his coaching career looks to be going in the same direction. In this article we highlight 3 things that make him the right man for the England job...

1. Playing Career
Stuart Lancaster first played rugby at school at the age of 10. As well as being an experienced coach, Lancaster has had a long playing career with many highlights. He became the first Leeds player to appear in 100 games since the club first formed in 1991.

2. Coaching Credentials
As well as representing Leeds 100 times, Lancaster went on to become the Leeds Carnegie Director of Rugby in 2006. After becoming the first player to reach a century of appearances he took up a full time role developing young players at Leeds. He was appointed to the RFU by Rob Andrew in May 2008 and was announced as interim head coach of England on December 8th 2011.

3. No Messing
Stuart Lancaster is a straight talking guy. In a recent press conference ahead of the Six Nations and the announcement of his squad for the competition, he spoke about Danny Care’s recent arrest and said “All players need to understand that we’re responsible adults and there are behaviours that go with that.” Hopefully Lancaster will discipline players more for any misbehaviour following off-field issues at the World Cup.
