IRB player of the year, Thierry Dusautoir, will lead France as they go into the tournament as favourites with Wales not far behind. Sam Warburton continues to captain Wales after his controversial red card in the semi-final down under whilst Ross Ford will come in as Scottish captain.

Paul O'Connell replaces Brian O'Driscoll who is out injured for the duration of the Six Nations but is certainly a capable replacement to BOD as captain. Although Stuart Lancaster is expected to choose Chris Robshaw for England's opening matches, Tom Wood represented England at the 2012 launch as captain.
