Twickenham will stage an all-Irish showdown this weekend.

Ulster secured their place in the Heineken Cup final after beating Edinburgh, the first Scottish team to make it into the semi-finals in the tournament's history. Ulster's opponents Leinster narrowly beat Clermont earlier to book their place in the final.

Leinster are on the brink of greatness if they can beat Heineken Cup underdogs Ulster at Twickenham on Saturday. But equal levels of greatness await Ulster if they can overcome the two-time competition champions.

A Leinster win in the final would complete a hat trick of titles for the Irish province in the last four seasons. Leinster beat Northampton Saints 33-22 in last year's final and narrowly beat Leicester 19-17 in the culmination of their 2008/2009 campaign.

However, Ulster have had their fair share of glory too. Back in 1999 they were crowned Heineken Cup champions after beating Colomiers 21-6 at Lansdowne Road. Colomiers are now seeking promotion to the Pro D2, the French version of the Championship. Clearly they have gone slightly downhill since their 1999 second place finish!

Whatever unfolds at Twickenham on Saturday evening will be marvelled upon by the rugby community and will certainly be remembered for a long time to come.
