6 October 2012

A 20-8 Leicester victory away at Sale Sharks got the ball rolling in Round 6 last night in Salford but the real action gets started today.

The big match this afternoon sees Gloucester take on West Country rivals Bath in front of what is set to be a sell-out Kingsholm crowd.

The Cherry and Whites are missing some of their star backs but new signing from New Zealand Jimmy Cowan is on the bench and the strong back row trio of Qera, Kalamafoni and Morgan are all set to start for the home team.

Former Gloucester man Dave Attwood starts for Bath in the pack and a dangerous back line which includes the likes of Kyle Eastmond and Dan Hipkiss will look to upset the Gloucester defence.

Prediction: It will be close but the home support could be the difference in what should turn out to be a narrow Gloucester victory.

After a couple of seasons in the top flight and a Heineken Cup place secured, nobody is underestimating Exeter Chiefs. Harlequins travel to Sandy Park to take on Rob Baxter's men looking for a win after missing out on four points against Saracens in the presence of mighty Mo Farah at the Stoop last weekend.

The man to watch out for will be star signing Wallaby Dean Mumm who starts for Exeter in this afternoon's fixture.

Prediction: This is another match that's tough to call but Exeter could nick a win by a couple of points.

High-flyers Northampton will travel to the Madejski Stadium this afternoon to take on London Irish in Round 6. These are two sides who have had very different starts to their 2012/13 campaigns. Northampton have had five wins from their opening five games whilst Irish have managed to win just one match so far this season.

Prediction: This should be an easy game for Northampton but there's no doubt that London Irish will be put up a good fight.

Tomorrow sees London Welsh host Saracens at the Kassam Stadium and London Wasps welcome Worcester to Adams Park.

TV Schedule: Catch Gloucester v Bath on ESPN from 2:15 pm and at the same time tomorrow on ESPN watch London Welsh take on Saracens.
