In the post match press conference, James Simpson-Daniel explained how his testimonial against Russia was no pushover game and the Gloucester squad were taking it seriously as they prepared for the start of the Aviva Premiership season."We were genuinely worried about this week, I think rightfully so, we were on edge, we hadn't trained very well against Bristol in the week so the guys were on edge and we've got Northampton a week on Sunday and no one is taking it light hearted at all tonight."
However Sinbad also explained that it was a great evening for him. He described the moment he ran out alone to a standing Gloucester crowd:
"I took a quick glance back to see if the guys were behind me but they weren't," he went on to say "it was a fantastic night."
