Welsh Rugby announces Salary cap
Due to large amounts of players being signed by French clubs, Wales’ four regions have introduced a salary cap. Each of the four teams can spend a maximum of £3.5m on Heineken Cup and Amlin Cup squad members. The introduction of the cap comes just a few days after rumours that Adam Jones of Ospreys could move to a French club. Jones would be added to a list that consists of James Hook, Lee Byrne and more.

Northampton sign Youngsters
Northampton have signed three academy youngsters - Jamie Elliott, Ben Nutley and Mike Haywood. Ben Nutley and Jamie Elliott are just 19 and play at flanker and centre whilst Mike Haywood is 20 and plays at hooker. They have all been given two year contracts and Jim Mallinder said “It is always good to have players in the squad who the fans can see as being their own having watched their development over a number of years.”

Anthony Allen
Ian Gough cited for Dangerous tackle
Ospreys second row, Ian Gough, has been cited for a dangerous tackle during their Heineken Cup loss against Saracens last week. Gough is alleged to have dangerously tackled Saracens hooker, Schalk Brits in the second half of their 16-13 defeat.

Allen set for Kingsholm return
Leicester Tigers centre, Anthony Allen, could move back to his former club, Gloucester. Allen is out of contract at the end of the season but is expected to stay at Welford Road. Northampton Saints are also aware of his contract running out and could make a move to sign the 25-year-old.
