- Wales crowned Grand Slam champions
Despite huge French defensive efforts and some missed kicks at goal, Wales held strong and came through as victors at the Millenium Stadium.
Having beaten Italy and every other the team already in the tournament, Wales came into the match as favourites and with confidence despite losing to France last year in the Rugby World Cup semi-final.
The turning point came minutes into the second quarter when Alex Cuthbert dashed over the line following a huge run from halfway. After a couple of penalties from either side and a Halfpenny conversion, the score at the break was 10-3 to the hosts.
The second period of the match lacked exciting action but was equally as tense as the first forty minutes.
With five minutes remaining on the clock, Wales led by 16 points to 9 and France were fluffing all opportunities but despite a missed drop goal from Priestland Wales won and were crowned, on top of their Triple Crown achievement earlier in the tournament, Six Nations and Grand Slam champions.
Final Score: Wales 16 France 9
