- Aviva Premiership Round 21 Preview
21 April 2012
As the Aviva Premiership draws nearer to a thrilling conclusion, we've predicted the results for this weekend's matches. Newcastle hosted Saracens last night and came away with one point, making the battle for Premiership survival even closer.
The Falcons will be hoping that Bath can do them a favour by beating Wasps this afternoon which will ensure Newcastle still have a chance of staying in the Premiership next season.
Gloucester discovered a new rival team this week as Bryan Redpath resigned from the head coach role at Kingsholm, a decision that could have been influenced by Sale Sharks - the team they will face this weekend.
Harlequins will face Leicester at the Stoop and in a battle for a play-off spot, Exeter will battle it out with Northampton at Sandy Park. Both Worcester and London Irish are safe from relegation but have little chance of reaching the top six. They will clash at Sixways this afternoon.
Predictions
Bath v London Wasps - It will be a close one and Wasps will be up for a fight but I think Bath will take this one by 7-10 points.
Gloucester v Sale - This is an almost impossible match to call but it's Gloucester's last home game of the season and if the Shed can make some noise, Gloucester will scrape this one by 5 points.
Worcester v London Irish - Neither side is really under any pressure to win but I think London Irish can comfortably win by 8 points.
Harlequins v Leicester - Harlequins have gone fairly downhill since their incredible start to the season and Leicester are on a role at the moment. Leicester will just win this one by 4-8 points.
Exeter v Northampton - It will be all eyes on Sandy Park tomorrow afternoon where these two sides will scrap for a play-off spot. I think Exeter will snatch this game by 3 points.
