Canterbury, the world’s leading rugby brand, today announced that it has secured a long term partnership to become the official kit partner to the Royal Air Force Rugby Union.

The four year agreement will see Canterbury supplying team and leisurewear to the RAFRU Seniors, Womens, Vultures and U23s as well as the Divisional sides (Eagles, Wolves, Sharks and Stags). This new partnership also compliments the already in place 4 year agreement with the RAF Spitfire Rugby 7s Team.

The partnership brings together two brands with great heritage and tradition. For the Royal Air Force Rugby Union it represents the continued promotion and development of RAF Rugby with the long term support from an internationally recognised rugby sportswear brand.

Chris Stephenson, CEO of Canterbury, said:
“The RAF is the oldest independent air force in the world. Combined with their mission statement of providing agile, adaptable and a capable Air Force second to none, they dovetail perfectly to the core values of Canterbury and our vision of providing the best rugby kit on the planet. We are keen to develop the relationship on all levels and in particular the great work already undertaken by the Benevolent Fund.”

Air Commodore Stephen Kell, Chairman of the RAF Rugby Union, said:
“We are delighted to enter into this partnership with Canterbury, a company whose reputation for quality, performance and technological excellence mirrors that of the RAF. We look forward to developing playing kit and apparel that supports the RAF Rugby Representative sides as they continue their drive towards excellence both on and off the pitch.”
